That`s a great video How is the trail network up there? I sold a bike to a guy who
lived there over 15 years ago. It reminds me of some spots in our river valley in Edmonton.

WOW I forgot what dry Alberta dirt looks like. Maybe someday we'll get some dry dirt around here.

Trail network is good. 20km+ of city built trail, but it is not singletrack. You have to look harder for singletrack. Best part is probably that the trail network surrounds you. Go any direction and you'll run into a trail. Most people in McMurray can say that within a 5 minute ride of their house they are on trails. A few freeride type runs are popping up here and there as well too.

I will be visiting the area twice this month for work, and am interested in knowing whether the weather and trails will be suitable for riding the last 10 days of March.

Then there's the question of bringing my own bike vs. renting a bike... Assuming such a thing is possible at one of the LBSs in town?

Even if the conditions etc. don't work I will keep the trails in mind for an expected summer visit.

    Thanks for any info!

No LBS and no bike rentals in town. Not sure if the trails will be dry by the end of the month. I hope, but we'll have to see. Ill try to keep some trail conditions posted here as they progress.
    Cheers

CovertCF check out the Wood Buffalo Cycling Club or McMurray MTB on facebook - they do Tuesday night rides on the trails shown. Although they might be taking a break for a while with the massive flooding.

Here is a ride doing laps of the trail along the river from the first vid. Called "the edge".

Bike Ride Profile | The edge 4x near Fort Mc Murray | Times and Records | Strava

You can probably zoom in and find the access. Go to Silver Springs Dr. in thickwood, cut into the trail by big rock.
