Temperature right around 30 Celcius, 48km, 3.5 hours, and hot! Headed east of Mill Creek and ended up past the Yellowhead bridge by the Strathcona Science Park. All single track is good, and the ST in the Science Park is super nice.
Was out yesterday too. Started downtown (in Oliver) hit up the path between Groat road and Connaught drive (I think you all refer to this as the Connaught drive roller coaster). Then the trail down the hill on Government house park, up the ravine (Ramsey?) back down through the bobsled/pinball alley... up Mackinnion, and back down the rooty trail, on to riverside drive and down the trail that connects to laurier park (does this trail have a name?). Stopped to check out the car show going on by the zoo, and then up the paved path along the whitemud into rio terrace, down patricia ravine (there's suppose to be some good single track in here, but I can never find it...)... played around a bit on the trail end where the trick descent is right to the river, the followed the single track to the fort Edmonton foot bridge, and road up into Terwilligar from a few rounds on the various single track there.... and then back home to downtown
Here's some markers that should hopefully help you find the good stuff around Pat. Heights (or atleast the ones that I have managed to find). The only thing is that the trails tend to get overgrown, so it can be easy to miss an opening.
If you are coming from the Fort Ed. Footbridge, take a right to the steep set of stairs. By the river bank, there should be a trail (sometimes it gets washed out) that leads too a clay bank. If you hang a left before the clay bank, you'll find some single track leading you up the hill and onto a gravel path. Follow the gravel path up and it should take you to a short staircase. Prior to the staircase, you should be able to find some more single track leading up the hill. Follow that and you'll be on some good continuous single track for a while.
If you can't find that or are coming from the other way, there is another entrance by the top of the short staircase that should be easy to find.
Eventually you'll come to a drop out (shortly after a small wooden bridge). Take that drop out onto the paved trail. Follow the paved trail on the way to westridge, close to a garbage can there should be another rooty trail to your right. Keep taking this one and you'll eventually get to an area with staircases leading out either way connected by a short amount of concrete. Cross the concrete and there should be some more singletrack ahead.

Thanks for the tip. I took the single track from the river bank to the gravel path, but couldn't remember where to go from there. The single track that continues up the hill was the path I was looking for, now I know where to look.
Gotcha. I think of the section west of the walterdale as being the "CC trail", since it was made for that, but since it's a pretty stable location I figured that I was confused. The east stuff is (or was) treasure island...I think?
I think that's Treasure Island? I only know of Ewok and maybe a couple others though as far as names go. The club riders seem to know the names of everything down there.
That last one must look familiar to at least some of ya. I had never gone on that side of the river yet, so i thought id see what was over there. Went down two different pathways and didn't see a way across this stream! I aware i would have jumped in if need be lol but BAM i decided to explore a lil more and that is what i found There is some rather cool stuff built up over in there. 50% of it i had to walk my bike through... but i am curious who is it that builds of this stuff? Obviously someone has to be in there building these trails and ramp and bridges. Id love to help out and learn how they do it if anyone can let me know? thanks
^ are you talking about the trails behind the esso refinery? I recently re-explored this area and found some trails that I've never seen before. Very fun to ride through... but very easy to miss the entrance.
Yes that's precisely where I'm talking about, it's pretty awesome back there! Yes it took me a few trys to find the entrance into that area as well. Very fun to ride and explore, once it dries up a lil I'm going to head back in
