6 week window for 7 summits this year?

I am wondering how much time we will be able to get on 7 summits. From what i hear the ladybird cabin still has 10 feet of snow. I know ladybird is not part of the 7 summits but close enough in proximity.

When do you think the high country will melt out? it sure was an epic winter for playing in the snow.

I live in Rossland and the general consensus around town is for a mid/late July opening. Just for kicks I'll go with July 22 as the first day to ride it without tires or feet touching snow.

Hopefully the predicted warm/sunny weather actually shows up next week and something resembling summer begins. On the flip side, the trails around town are in great condition and the riding is fast with excellent traction. Ummmmm, between downpours that is.

Well, it's a good thing we are riding the 7 at end of August then.

We rode it the July long weekend last year (2010) and hit only one patch of snow near Mt. Glory.

    Let's see now:

    - the trail is in excellent condition, thanks to the KCTS trail crew
    - the alpine flowers are in full bloom
    - the sky is bright blue
    - the beer is cold

    Zoom zoom!

[posted a thread on this but noticed this one as well so thought I would ask this group too. sorry to duplicate...]

Planning a weekend trip to Rossland to ride the Seven Summits. We are coming from N. Idaho.

We'd love to find another ride of this length and quality or longer to do on the other day. Any suggestions as to what to hit either in the Rossland area or somewhere south of there?

Ride Taylor Ridge in the northern Kettle Crest area of north-eastern Washington (about an hour's drive from the US border south of Rossland):
    Kettle Fest 2011 and Advocacy!

About a 20 miles point to point ride with ~2,800 ft climbing and 5,200ft descending. Not the same views like 7 Summits but it's a great ride. We just rode it on Sept 4. BTW - it is best done as a shuttle.
