    xtr m975 rear hub 36h

ok, this is really ticking me off. I cannot seem to find this item anywhere. Wiggle in UK used to have them, but now they are nowhere. I ordered 3 from BikeInn for $606.81 paypal (includes shipping from UK to Michigan), but they are out. The price comes out roughly to $180 a hub + shipping. BikeInn has nothing else I want. Does anyone know where I can get: XTR M975 rear hub 36h?

    Dear Aric,

Do you want disc or v? I found an m970 36h rear but its not disc. Why m975? You can have m965 cheaper or m98x in the configuration you're looking for. Best bet is keep an eye on ebay or use a 32h rim... Sorry I can't be of more help.

    rear hub options

I need a lightweight (lighter than xt) hub with the disc splines on it (ie centerlock). I was not aware of the M965 series. I looked on thE bay, but there are no 36h hubs in 965,985,988,975, only 28 (m965), 32 (985 & 975), .no 988 rear hubs there at all.

    update:
Bike Inn now has the 985 and 988 available. For the 3 hubs ordered they want an additional $180 not sure which, I assume it's the 985.

    update:
It looks like the m988 is a thru-axle of which I have no experience and limited understanding/info of the mechanical/print spefications. It appears as though the hub is 142mm wide. This is too wide for my app. which requiers the 132-135mm width as it may go in a frame of 125mm.

So in conclusion, the M975 was the best choice as far as I can see per weight, per cost, per size/fitment. It looks like I'll just have to pay more and get the M985.

I will keep looking for that M965. Thanks TheRedMantra for your help.
