Using record front derailleur on MTB

    Hi All

I am doing a new Ellsworth Truth build. It will be 2 x 9. As such I really want to use a road derailleur however I notice you cant get road derailleurs in top pull.

My question is - has anyone converted a road derailleur to top pull?

How's it done, is it hard? Can I simply by a conversion kit or part?

Cheers and thanks for your help

    Hey, long time, no see

If you get the conversion to work, then you may want to use a Chorus FD - many pro-tour teams believe the carbon plate on the Record FD is not up to task and spec the lower tier component on their riders bikes.
Ego maniacs please object to my posts.

Use a Speen adapter to convert any road mech from bottom pull to top pull.

I looked at the speen website. I couldn't work out if I needed the:

Flatbar, Ergopower® or QuickShift® version for SRAM XO twist shifters ...

I assumed flatbar but won't pull the trigger till I'm entirely sure.

Any guesses as to which one?
