New question here. Truvativ Stylo Team vs. SL

I'm trying to figure out where the ~40g weight difference is between the Team and the SL. I know the Team has self extracting bolts and the nickel plated rings. But I don't know if the bolts and the rings are a different and/or lighter material.

    Anybody know the story?

My Stylo crankarms weigh 481 grams which is a lot considering their price. The chainrings and bolts are nice and light including a 16 gram 22 tooth but a lot of money for heavy crankarms. I would get Race Face Turbines, FSA carbons or 03 Shimano XT's, all being about 420-430 grams, instead.

    Firex Teams

Are an excellent value. The only difference vs. the Stylo Teams' is the crankarm material, alloy chainring & crankarm bolts, and the anodizing.

I'm not one to flex crankarms so the 6xxxx aluminum vs. the Stylo's stronger AL is more than enough for me.

Also, if you replace the steel chainring bolts for alloy versions, the crankset's actual weight is very close to Stylo's actual weight, 639grams, confirmed. 662 grams with steel chainring bolts.

And just to note, my Firex Team arms weigh 495 grams. Checkout weight weenies.

    Good luck.
