I think Easton patented the use of scandium in aluminum alloys, and as a trade name. If they pay easton for either the name or the alloy, hey can legally call it Scandium. Would 100% Scandium, apart from priceless, also be better?
Using Scandium for the spindle at least makes sense over plain alu, especially if they use the same amount of material as oreviously put in alu spindles, it should add strength.
