New question here. Stems with aluminum hardware..

Been using RF Evolve XC stem [Ti bolts] with the Answer Hyperlite flat-bar. As of late I've
been looking for a lighter stem; The RF Deus xc is stated to have aluminum hardware at
125g. I question if this is safe and could use some honest exspirenced feed back.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Why risk it? The Syntace F99 with stock steel bolts weighs about 104 g for a 105 mm length. Take off another ~8 g after you add Ti bolts.

If you use 31.8 bars you can use a Ritchey WCS stem.

Syntace F99, who's selling them at a good price on the net, and does it use M5 or M6
bolts. I've already have 6 Ti M5x15 on hand, and that 96grams sounds real good.

    Thanks for the reply.

I once emailed raceface about the 'alloy hardware' on their raceface Deus stem, and was told that was a typo and it is actually surpposed to say steel.

I have 2 of those raceface Deus XC stems (in sexy silver) and both of them were 142 and 143grams. If i'd known they'd be that heavy, i would have gone a syntace.
