    Spoke weights

Does anyone know the weight difference between dt competition spokes and revolutions, or Sapim x ray. Roughly a 260 length. Buying a bike that has the giant p-xc1 27.5 wheels and was wondering if its worth switching out spokes and nipples or not. If anyone knows the rim weight that would appreciated as well. Thanks.

The rim weight will be the main deterrent from getting high end spokes. Its far to heavy of a rim for the 100-200 gram savings of spokes

Those wheels are boat anchors, better off just starting fresh if you want to lighten up your wheels. Build some ZTR Crests up on some inexpensive hubs with some light weight spokes and you'll see a pound of savings or more.

Would you recommend revolutions or Sapim's.

CX-rays are lighter, but more of a pain to work with because they are bladed. They are also more expensive. Revolutions are a more common spoke, any bike shop worth it's salt will have them, they are only a little heavier and a bit cheaper. Both are fine spokes but if you want the lightest weight wheel you can build go with the CX-rays over the Revs.
