Sorry for changing subject. Just 1 question.

Hello , sorry for changing subject but I got one question for u. I just bought a cube reaction gtc sl 26 and I kinda feel in danger outside. My point is don't u fear if u get robbed? I kinda feel I have to use it on special circumstances .... :/

I guess it depends where you ride. In South America that's likely a risk. In most parts of the world people wouldn't know a WalMart bike from a $10K carbon full suspension bike.

Dear Rockyuphill i ride in Greece but my point is that any expensive bicycle is like a magnet on thiefs eyes. Specially a full carbon one. Sometimes i am even thinking to use it in races only. I am sure that there is an organized crime behind scenes who know what is expensive and what isnt. If we leave it locked somewhere and go for coffe we are kinda responsible for that. But what if u are attacked in the middle of nowhere in a trail path? Financial crisis changed ppl , thats for sure. I hear like daily in greece about stolen bikes and ppl who's searching em.

Yeah Greece might count as a place to worry about right now. I have a friend who lived in Venezuela, a couple of months ago some of his friends there were riding in a group and were stopped by a gang of guys with guns and had their bikes, cellphones and cameras stolen, and one was shot in the leg.

I'd rather take my chances with bear and cougar encounters.

Telescopic Steel Batons - Expandable 16, 21, 26 inch baton
Easy to carry, easy to use.

I am not sure about the laws for handguns in Greece, but I have a concealed weapons permit that I use when I am on a camping/biking trip. For normal day rides I dont have to.

In Southern Ontario a couple years ago some idiots were trying to rob people on the trail. They even tried it during a popular race we have. They would surround the rider and try to take the bike. I don't remember if they were caught or not.

and before anyone says how tough they are, you're probably fatigued from riding, not expecting to be robbed on a trail and those shoes you're wearing aren't going to help your balance.

Unless I see someone in obvious trouble I'm not stopping for anyone.

Had a cougar encounter myself, and barely got away. She didn't try to steal my bike though.

As long as the guys stopping you on the trail are just wanting to take your bike
