    SID Carbon Crown/Steerer (Nino?)

Is this an impossible thing to find? I mean, other than buying the full fork and then parting it out.

Nino, you have one, right? I am curious about something... Can you take (or do you have) a picture of where the legs match up into the crown? Possibly a picture of the crown without legs... I am trying to figure something out...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you tell us what you're trying to figure out, maybe somebody could just tell you the answer (or help you figure it out).

There are places that sell them, but they are rediculously expensive. Search this forum, there was a thread on it not too long ago.

Just thinking about using the crown with different legs (rigid).

    Thinking outloud...

Sounds interesting... but wouldn`t that put to much stress on the crown? With no suspension the carbon would have to absorb all that pounding. Hmmm - carbon crown with Ti legs. Would be light though.

With the cost and work to find a SID carbon steerer then tuning it make it rigid, mind as well find a rigid pace fork. Just as much bling with less weight.

    Already have a Pace...

This SID idea is more idea than anything else. I am sure it will never materialize.

But, I want a different rigidi (ti or carbon) than the rest for this build that I am doing.

Sounds like something I would do.

Best bet is to get cozy with your LBS and wait for the SRAM (RockShox) rep to come in and start begging, I mean talking, with him about your idea.

My only worry would be if the legs are glued in anyway to the crown, what damage would be done removing them. If they are press in...then I think you have some serious potential!

    Thanks,
    Shane

    DAMN! $220 for it...

That mixed with some Moots legs ala that bizarre rigid they had at Interbike and that would be the sickest rigid fork in the world. Bar none.
