Sette Serum Pro XT or Motobecane Fly Team

    Hello,

I am looking at purchasing one of these bikes. It looks like the the Motobecane obviously has the better parts group. I am a little concerned about the FSA SLK cranks on the Motobecane based upon an internet search. Should I be worried about that? Which one would you go with and why? Thanks!!

I would give up the better part group to get a carbon frame. The carbon frame will have a greater influence on ride quality than a slightly better parts group. My experience with the Fly is that is a very ridged/rough riding frame.

they both look good, the fly is better spece'd but the sette has a better frame. it's a trade off. if your going to upgrade the sette is a better platform. the sette says its a little heavier but the fly have tiny flimsy tires and probubly lightweight tubes that help them say its 20lbs.

The Sette is a better deal IMO. The Motobecane has nicer derailleur's, and cockpit (seatpost, stem, etc.), but the Sette has nicer wheels, tires, and frame. Also, Pricepoint stands behind their stuff! I broke one of those frames a while back (it was a freak accident), and the day Pricepoint received my broken frame I was shipped a new one!

Thank you all. I purchased the Sette. Put some crank brothers Candy X and kenda klimax tires. All else right out of the box. On the scale it comes in at 22lbs even...19"
