Selle Italia SLR TT is not up to snuff for MTB use.

Figured I would post this up so no one else wastes money and time on these saddles.

I broke the first one in April after purchasing it new. The carbon base cracked allowing the saddle to sag. It took 2 months to complete the warranty process.

While racing today on my warranty replacement, I broke the saddle again hearing the same familiar "pop".

I love the saddle. It fits me well and is the shape I need. But it is simply not up to par for MTB use. I race XC on a hardtail and weigh 160 pounds.

I have had great results with the older versions. Though with the recent revisions, I think they cut too much weight off the saddle and created a seriously weaker product.

Thought potential buyers would want to know!

Too bad. I've been using this one (older gen?) on my DH bike for 3 years. It's a great DH saddle with ample flat length, padding, and vertical surface for thigh leaning while being reasonably light.
