The New Roadie wheel pics and scale weights.....

The set came in heavier than I thought.
    Final weight is 1365g

    Primavera Hubs/Nobium 350 24mm rims/DT Aerolite Spokes/DT Aluminum nipples.

These are basically same rims as the AC Sprint 350 and made in the same factory.

We will be selling these wheels and the will be less than the AC Sprint 350.

Overall quality on the hubs should be the same, if not better. Time you others will tell.

I will give a ride report in 2 weeks.

Mmm... Those look sweet. Do they come in Silver?

I am looking for a well priced, light weight and durable wheelset for my roadie (shimano gearing), as the stock Gipiemme (sp??) T3 Wheels are 2.35kg... yes, you read right (and that's only the wheelset and lightweight rimtape! Not even Skewers are in that weight!).

    Hubs or rims?

The hubs, yes. Rims I am not sure, but I don't think so.

You can go lighter with ALEX EST 13/14 rims. Only 17.6 mm semi-aero shape. mark.

    Also DT R1.1 rims availabe.

they sure look good. weight is also real good.

although the hubs must be anchors since a Amclassic 350 with 28/32 spokes weighs just 1280g. yours have 24/28 spokes so 8 spokes less which means ca. 40g saved...hubs must be 120g heavier than the ACs.

don't forget American Classic has 3 nice clincher wheelsets:
    300 Magnesium: 1222g
    AC350: 1280g
    CR420: 1390g

but yours have a very good weight when you compare that with the listing below.

have a look at some clincher wheels weights just released by french "Le Cycle" roadie magazine where they tested 100 different road wheelsets. i just picked some clinchers of the better names and makes :

Fulcrum Light: 1325g (3400 Euro!!! no kidding)
    Bontrager XXX Lite: 1370g
    Campagnolo Hyperon clincher: 1385g
    FRM SL R 21: 1435g
Cane Creek Aros Team SC: 1435g
    Easton Ascent 2: 1465g
    Cane Creek Aros 58: 1490g
    Zipp 101: 1490g
    DT Swiss 1450: 1490g
Mavic Ksyrium ES: 1515g (that's the newest one with the carbon hubs and red spoke)
    FSA RD 800: 1525g
    Mavic Ksyrium SL: 1560g
    Cane Creek Volos: 1560g
    Bontrager Race X Lite: 1565g
    Campagnolo Eurus: 1570g
Shimano Dura Ace 7801 SL: 1575g
    Zipp 303: 1575g
    Campagnolo Neutron: 1595g
    Fulcrum Racing 1: 1620g
    FSA RD 600: 1660g
    Ritchey WCS DS: 1660g
    Fulcrum Racing 3: 1675g
    Zipp 404: 1685g
    Shimano R7801: 1695g
    Mavic Ksyrium Elite: 1785g
    Spinergy Stealth: 1820g
    Campagnolo Vento: 1830g
    Shimano 560: 1845g
    Mavic Aksium: 2040g

Yes, the hubs are heavier, but better made with...

with no recall issues . they are built to last and good have been made lighter. But they are competive with DT Swiss and weight and just a few grames more than AC.

These are easy to service and were degined to last as racing and everyday hubs. Could laso be that the rims are coming heveri than expected. I did not get a weight on the rims. They are made in the same factory as the AC, but maybe they are slighty heavier.

They hubs should weigh 73/234g verified. So my guess these rims came in over 350g as the AC are lighter.

These will also be price a bit better than the AC.

But quality down the road will be the main focus!!! These are also a bit better built than Tune hubs .

I found out while the wheels came in heavier....

The wheels were orginally weighed before taping. The wheels have 2 layers of tape and 3 layers at the valve hole. So that's 20-25g extra per wheel.
So take off the tape, we are @ 1316g with stonger and better quality hubs than the ACs.

Also the rims are THE EXACT same as the AC 350.

I will be offering a 20mm Noibium rims which is slighty heavier due to thicker braking surface and it's stronger!

I will have prices up soon and a classified ad on RBR.com

    Mr Dirtboy,

Please clarify something for me here. In your first posting, you state the Primavera rims as "These are basically same rims as the AC Sprint 350 and made in the same factory".

In your latest posting you state "Also the rims are THE EXACT same as the AC 350".

So if these are indeed the same rims, why are you selling an EXACT knock off of a product you claim sucks?

    Hi Nino,

I was just wondering if you could get these wheels in??

I no you can order them from AC website but i was just wondering if you can get them in any cheaper. They are going to cost NZ$2200 thats $1500 american.

I think these are the lightest wheels out although the magnesium rims i think are weaker than carbon but are lighter.

American Classic Road wheels Mag 300 Clincher 700C
    1145g
    Sapim CX Ray spokes
    Ceramic bearings

    Cheers Jordan

I ran across these while getting together parts for a new road build. SpeedFX carbon rims advertised weight is 1560 grams, came in at 1540 grams, $255 shipped. Pretty nice looking wheels, I can't decide to leave the stickers on or not, but they look nice. Won't get the build finished and get the wheels tested for a couple of weeks, but I'll check back. The hubs look alot like American Classic's but have the SpeedFX logo on them. Here's a couple of pics.
