    More Ebay fraud?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=27948

After reading several others cite the problems with phony ebay sales, and just reading what happened with a pic of Dirtdad's bike, I suspect the legitimacy of this one to be a little suspect. How do you even tell for sure? Perhaps this really is a good deal on a Scalpel in spite of his zero feedback and private auction business. BTW, what is the claimed purpose of private auctions, and why do I see them associated with questionable deals?

that one is about as obvious as they get. the user registered today, and they are registered from Andorra (little tiny country near France), but the auction location is in the US. Private auction, payment only by wire transfer, etc. Also, click on "view sellers other items" - that says it all. scammers use the private auctions so no one can email anyone who has bid on the auction and warn them - that's why I bid it up over $10,000, at least that looks more suspicious. they makes it kind of hard to find, but there is a ton of porn for sale on eBay - I think that is what the private auctions are intended for.
