    Lightning Crankset Fail

I was doing pretty well in the SS Nationals race today until this:Lightning Crankset Fail-img_20130817_160924_432.jpg
Never seen a stress riser failure in a CS like this before. I am not a big guy just 160lbs and these are the heavy duty option models. Luckily it didn't result in any injuries. I was climbing a short steep wall when the left crankarm let go. I have been super happy with these cranks until now- I have a set on my SS 29er and my geared 29er. All my dealings with Lightning have been awesome so far so I'm not at all worried about their response. Weird fail put the coffin nail in my hopes for SS Natl, glory

Can you ever be too strong? Maybe for this crank spindle at the end of it's fatigue life. I just heard back from Lightning: 50 bucks and they will replace the spindle. The crank is out of warranty by about a year or so. I love Lightning's customer service. No complaints.
