Not all superlight stuff lasts




I built this into a 570g (approx) front wheel. Oh well. Apparently KP had a lot of problems with the flanges being way to thin for radial spoking. The remains will be eBayed.

Thankfully the bike was in the garage when the flanges decided to let go. I later built up the bontrager red lable rim with an Airbomb Nuke Proof hub. Its not quite as light but for $30 the hub has been great.

Here's a picture of my KP hub which failed a couple of years ago. I was riding when I heard a loud bang and my front wheet started binding on the brakes. Luckily I didn't fall off, but it was a long walk home. I now use Hugi 240s, but I wouldn't mind some thing a bit ligher... As long as it's strong this time
