    Hope 2 Evo Hub 135 x 10mm Bolt On
I am in the process of building up new wheels for the Superfly. I received my new Hope 2 Evo hubs the other day. I ordered the 135 x 10 mm bolt on for the rear. The bolts are fairly heavy. Has anyone tried using titanium bolts for bolt on applications?

Try http://torontocycles.com, lots of Ti hardware and other tuning bits and bobs.

That's where I got mine. You want the 1.5 thread pitch ones.

One thing I'm looking for is a pair of conical washers. In the Collidus's picture, they're red. Anyone know where to source some? Thanks...

I couldn't find washers like I wanted them, so I made some. Here for the front:

Your best bet - a lathe or a friend with a lathe.

I just bought a pair of Hope replacement bolts with washers. I grabbed the washers and used them with my Ti bolts. I don't own a gram scale, but I will be picking one up soon and when I get it, I'll weigh them both for you if nobody else has answered.

FWIW, the difference in heft is very noticeable!

Maybe some using some different bolt-on hubs on MTB?? I'm planning to buy Dartmoor Vee-one or NS Primary/Rotary hub (rear),but i don't know wich one will be better.

glad I found this! I just bought the same hub and was really surprised by the 385g total weight. The bolts are 23 grams each, the washers are 5g each I immediately thought of Ti. So, anyone know how much the ti bolts weigh?

You have Dartmoor Vee-One or NS hub?? If two steel bolts weight 46 grams,Ti should weight around 28-30

Hopes are lighter than Kings, but only 24 POE.

Excellent, I think I'll go with Hopes. I have a set of Enves but are built with DT 240 (geared) on back and lefty hub up front, I will convert them to SS QR. Thanks!

The Hope SS hub is not lighter than Chris King SS, it's about 23g heavier based on claimed weights. And the Hope SS hub is 48 POE, not 24.

23 grams is not that much, besides I will convert them to qr. Also there the price difference is a lot.

Careful how you say that - this is the weight weenies forum ;)

But yes, I wasn't trying to sway your decision, just correcting a different post that had some misinformation. I've been very happy with the Hope SS hub and think it's a great value compared to CK. I like the sound Hope more as well. The QR conversion is amazingly simple - just pop off the end caps and replace.

When my hubs showed up I weighed the bolts and got 31.75g each! The ti bolts from Toronto Cycles weighed in at 30g for the PAIR! That is a lot of frickn weight for two damn bolts! While in the grand scheme of things, 30g doesn't sound like much but if you are trying to build up a lighter bike then you must look at every single piece of it and see where you can shave some grams. It all adds up in the end (of course one should look at knocking down larger chunks first) But for the money, this is one of the better deals I have seen out there.

    Nice job

Since we are in the WW forum, I suggest you use PPS with 60% glass next time ;)

what length bolt? if my google conversion is correct the stock r 1.57 inch or 40mm. I found these Ti bolts with a shank as opposed to all thread. Are you guy's running all thread and do they dig into your frame or brackets. Personally I was concerned about this which is why I converted to a Salsa QR. But now I think that the low torque of this skewer may be the creak culprit and want to try going back to a bolt on set up but with Ti bolts. I'm also running the Hope Pro 2 Evo SS hub, which is crazy loud as you know( much louder than the CK, I liken it to a deep sea fishing reel hooked up to a great white ), but on a Salsa El Mariachi. thanks
