    Formula R1 Carbon Clamp

Hi guys! Anyone out there knows where I can get a cheaper alternative to this? http://www.bkcomposites.de/BK/0600.html I just don't understand how 2 small carbon clamps can cost so much.

Guess you don't understand the price of this crankset either: http://www.thm-carbones.com/en/produ...vicula_mtb.htm ;-)

Why does it cost so much to save weight? Because people will pay for it. They are weenies after all.

But seriously, there's a guy named Elliflap or something like that on the forum. He's good at getting exotic lightweight parts. Maybe he can help.

Cranksets I can understand why they would cost so much because of the engineering, design, labor, and amount of carbon involved. But 2 small carbon clamps you can cut out from a soda can (that gives me an idea!) costing 50eu is a bit too much. So I was hoping someone out there who makes carbon parts at home can offer the same thing at a reasonable price.

On polish Light Bikes forum there is a guy (send PM to jarek or look here for email contact) which makes them for a 25$.

Look at this thread for pictures.

Just to clarify these pictures above it is not jarek's production, they are from r2-bike the guys who sell these clamps as well.

This what jarek makes, I would say requires a lot of improvement.

$25-30, from the guy mentioned above 'jarek' polish light-bike
