    crankset/brakes dilemma

Hey guys, I need some advice on finalizing my new hardtail build. At my 90kg weight, no racing, basic XC, this will not be a full weight weenie bike anyway. Iím looking more for quality/durability. But I like really nice components!!!....

My real dilemma items are the crankset/bb and the brakes.

I like the tune Fastfoot/Sixpack combo, and the FRM DP4ís, but theyíre a lot more money than the new XTR M960 crankset/integrated bb and Avid brakes. I also looked a lot at Middleburn RS-8/Phil Wood, but in the end itís almost the same cost as the tune setup, and a bit heavier.

I canít decide whether to go with the tune/FRM, or save the money and spend it on better wheels (Dave Thomas SpeedDream) for this bike or some lighter wheels/parts for my road bike (which is really my first love).

    Any advice appreciated.

Why not old school XTR cranks?

I believe they have a lower Q factor and may be on sale somewhere right know, think I saw a thread stating $300 incl XTR bottom bracket. Besides they will match your shifters and rear derailluer.
also I hear a lot of people say that Avids are lighter and better than XTR V brakes.
Zero complaints here on XTR V brakes except the pads, the Ritchie black pads
heat up way less & stop way better.
