What is the comfort like of the carbon rail version and does it appear to be up to the task of mountain bike use?

I am fairly certain that it will stand up to MTB use. It would be an interesting experiment! I would be comfortable giving it a shot on a a full suspension bike.....The seat rails don't absorb the brunt of the hits.

The saddle is great.....Ride is smooth and I love the ostrich leather pattern. I am riding it on a carbon road bike which is already a smooth ride. Can't go wrong with the price, I may buy another for my SS

I ordered 2 carbon rail versions this morning from Backcountry (free 2 day shipping). One is going on my blur, hopefully it's up for the task. I will give an update when I get some time on it.

that saddle is just another re-branded Velo saddle, found in lots of bike brands... They are bad, quite bad. They are light but they loose shape quite fast. Padding is so so.

Just a few MM narrower than my 140 MM WTB Devo.

I have 2 short rides on mine and so far, so good. I grabbed the carbon railed version for my Blur XC. It replaced the stock WTB Rocket V which weighed 320g. It is definitely a stiffer seat, but as far as comfort goes, I don't have any complaints. The only thing I did notice is that the cover has a little more drag to it than the WTB which had a slippery feel (translation= my shorts seemed to drag on my tender areas more). Just a side note, I was not using any type of liner, just shorts and undies. For me, there are no noticeable uncomfortable spots so it's a keeper.

Not sure what size the rails are but they appear to be the "standard" size. Mounted up to my existing post just fine.

I've had this saddle on my fs MTB for a few weeks now and it's been fine. As mentioned, the cover is more grabby than some other saddles I've used, but I've gotten used to it. Comfort level is fine, but that's very personal so YMMV.

It's light, looks nice and is cheap.
