I have an Origin 8 carbon fork that came with rim brake posts that can be moved up/down, or removed. I ran the bolt-on posts with a 29" wheel initially, and then switched to a disc brake and a 26" front wheel. The fork is obviously designed for a disc brake and there's no question there, but the bolt-on rim brake posts are interesting. I thought about putting them back on so I can run my old (very light) xtr/mavic front wheel. My question is, will I fatigue/stress the carbon blades more with rim brakes than a disc brake ? Origin 8 did include them with the fork, so it can't be a huge issue, but I don't want to have the fork fail.
