It was time for me to replace the chainrings on my Scalpel and in trying to decide what kind to get, my LBS (the owner is one of the biggest weight weenies I know) recommended the Rocket Pro chainring. I went with that and went with Shimano XT for the middle and small ring mainly for the Shimano shifting on the middle ring.
I was pleasantly suprised to find that the 4 bolt 104 BCD 42 tooth big ring weighed in at 64 grams and was slightly cheaper than the XT ring. It is ramped and pinned and the shifting seemed good in the bike stand, so we will see what it does on the trail. Has anyone else used this ring before and what have your experiences been?
