    Advice on a 2004 i-drive 1.0 light build

    Hello,

I have a 2004 GT i-drive 1.0 and am wanting to build it up light.

Has anyone done this or has anyone any tips where to attack an i-drive first?

    Thanks

    Jonny

    hello,

I have no idea what the frame itself weighs, as I have never had it stripped.

The bike itself is about 32lbs (14.515kg)

The only change to the stock spec is that it now has Fox 125 Vanilla R's on it and a TITEC scoper seatpost

My main aim is to have the bike in 2 forms

    - Current spec with my downhill tyres and tubes on for summer heavy duty action which weighs around 35 lbs (15.876kg)

    - Secondly a sub 30lbs (13.6kg) winter/cross country rig which is a lot easier to shift about and flexible for wet muddy winters in Northern Ireland

So any advice on where to start?

My only vision so far is to replace the Deore/Syncros Big Box wheels, with something lighter. Thinking about XT/X517 combo.

Have a look at this link Merlin sale wheels and see what you think is going to be best value, lightweight upgrade

    Thanks
