    47 grams XC saddle

This is the (discontinued) Extralite carbon saddle that I have machined down and down and now I don't think it can be machined anymore without weakening it too much . I have also rounded the edges like crazy and also the cut so shouldn't scrape your legs (or manly bits) .

I have fully tested it on my trail bike at my local trails and stayed seated as much as possible over the tree roots ans it survived . So far so good but like with most niche carbon parts in a crash it will no doubt break easily .

Well tell a lie I can get it lighter . I saw a saddle that someone made where they narrowed the rails near the shell (only slightly ) . I'm taking a gamble with this one so will be testing later tonight . If all is good then I will post it again . If not then I'll be in hospital while the nurse removes shards of carbon from my a** !!!

    44grams BTW.

Don't know if you guys have seen these MILEBA saddles. 53g. Custom carbon, 16 different surfaces. 3 different widths. Microfibre covers in 32 colors. 16 different rider weight classes. Ordering is a couple weeks because they're made to order...you can even add a custom logo. Not cheap but they look good.

Mileba are good especially if you like custom . I would go further lightening the shell though .

How much do you weight? Aside from expected use, I assume you must be considering this at some point.

Also, do you have any projects that you've overdone it on, i.e. removed too much material and it cracked? I'd find that interesting as well from a learning standpoint.

I don't really trust manufacturers claimed weights, we need proof on a balance

karimian5, that is one slick looking saddle you made!

I had this Dash P3 saddle on my 2013 Fat Bike build. The lack of nose really helped moving around, balancing in the snow with baggy snow pants. Good for 165 lbs of anything but am or dh.

Cheers man . Those Dahs saddle are amazing .

Yup you don't really need the nose . If you check my recent updates you will see I removed the nose from the saddle and combined it with the Schmolke TLO post making a custom carbon plug . 74.5grams for the post and saddle @ 350mm length and 31.6mm diameter . I still get the odd comments about it looking uncomfortable etc and it won't work blah blah blah but hey if you haven't tried it then you don't know .
