    26" 32h wheelbuild - DT190's + Super CX-Ray + Crest

    ciao/hallo/greets/hola/howdy/hello

just thought i'd document my current wheel build incase any info/spec is handy to any weight fiends here.

    Spec:
Hubs: (circa 2010) DT Swiss 190 Ceramic CL hubs 32h (sans stickers)
Spokes: Sapim Super CX-Ray black + Sapim Polyax nipples
Rims: Stan's NoTubes ZTR Crest 26" 32h black (sans stickers)
    Tubeless valves: Duke (black)
    CL adapers: custom
    CL lockrings: PRC

    Hubs:

108.4g DT 190 32h CL front hub with sticker

205g DT 190 32h CL rear hub with sticker

    0.4g DT 190 hub stickers

108.2g DT Swiss 190 32h CL front hub without stickers

204.8g DT Swiss 190 32h CL rear hub without stickers

...brand new version 180 CL rear hub is approx 209g on r2 bike scales & supposedly 195g on the DT Swiss website.

updates later as they arrive, have to return these Crest rims as both are damaged & spokes are still in transit from Germany.

    348g & 349g Crest 26" 32h rims with stickers

hello, thanks, yes abit lucky on the rear hub, not so on the Crest rims … but will likely be using a 36 star ratchet so adding some weight back on again.

circa 2009/10 DT 190 CL 32h NOS hubset was a steal @ $449 + saved 0.4g not having the stickers on them to show age - seller (Rudy @ Evolusport cycles France) has a few more apparently, i have no association with them just a customer.

prefer the stealthy look of the black 190 to the white 180 imho

    CL adapters & lockrings:

6g PRC lockrings (both weigh same)

10g "supertune" mod rear CL adapter

    14g mod front CL adapter

decided to return the Crest rims for refund instead of exchange & will now use the DT190 hubs for another carbon wheelset with LB new AM rims @ approx 380g each & only 32g weight difference

Duke black ano tubeless valves arrived from jpracingbike1 yesterday, Philippe refunded the VAT back to Paypal after the order was placed & the package arrived in California from France in 7 days

4.4g Duke tubeless valve with Duke valve collar & generic dust cap

    2.9g Duke tubeless valve

3.3g Duke tubeless valve, Purely Custom alloy valve collar & Mavic rubber washer

bladed Sapim Super CX-Ray & round Sapim Super Spokes

    7.7g 2x 268mm Sapim Super Spokes

    7.6g 2x 266mm Sapim Super Spokes

    7.5g - Sapim Super CX-Ray 266mm x2

    7.2g - Sapim Super CX-Ray 264mm x2

perhaps not the best scales for minute measurements after weighing high power spoke magnets last week… will put new scales on xmas wish list

Culturesponge - can you do me a big favour and measure a CX-Ray from the spoke head to where the round part starts at the threaded end? I'm trying to work out how much I could shorten a standard CX-Ray spoke.

    CX-Ray straight pull: L=272mm, Round part starts @ 255mm.
    L= 255, RPS @ 238mm

    hello
    sorry for slow reply

argh, sorry... i immediately returned those Super CX-Ray spokes to Starbike for exchange.

was xc71 able to answer your question? (thanks)

have some spare Sapim Super Spokes here - would measuring them be of any help?

I was curious if you could tell me more about the centerlock adapters. The pics are not showing up (says they are unavailable through flicker). I have a new build and the hubs will be centerlock and I an having a hard time swallowing the fact that I will gain so much per rotor to use a regular adapter or centerlock rotor. 10g plus lock ring sounds much better.
