    Winter riding around Spokane area?

    Hello,

My new bike (Rocky Mountain Instinct 970 MSL) arrived on Saturday along with a bunch of snow, so I am looking for an "as close as possible" riding location to take it for a spin this upcoming weekend (December 7 or 8th)

I live about 2 hours north of Spokane and am wondering if there is still some riding locations in the Spokane area at this time of year, or if not, how far south I would need to continue to find some trails to test the bike out on.

    Thanks for the help!

Right now Beacon is snow-free and I think Riverside is also snow free. It's not supposed to snow this week so you should be able to ride in Spokane.

Thanks! I forget that you don't necessarily get the snow down there, so that is perfect.

Now to clear my Sunday for a drive and a ride.

    Much appreciated.

Anybody been up Beacon recently? Thinking about coming up from Pullman this weekend.

based on conditions at my house right now, I'm certain Beacon is snow free. I'm not sure if it's getting warm enough for thawing in the sunshine or not.

eidt: 45 this afternoon. This is winter?

Figured it is snow free, more concerned about it being too muddy/soft, but given it will be dry and above freezing all week I'm thinking it could be pretty good by the weekend.

Thanks for bringing the warm weather back with you. There was some good skiing for a few days but now back to this crap, figured I might as well get some riding in.

The Bluffs(Southhill) are a good bet right now. It gets a lot of sun so most of the ice is gone. Riverside is a Ice Palace. Beacon might be good, but I bet there are patches of ice in the shade.
