    Went to Lake Gibbs Today

Went to Gibbs Lake today with my father. The trails were dry and were well maintained. The only thing to look out for are the nettles. We rode the intermediate trail and had a blast. I'm just getting into mtn biking and love it. I used to race dirt bikes but haven't for years and my father has been riding/racing for the last 35 years lol. Its fun seeing some of my skills return in a different form

I'm not in the best shape yet but will be training more so I can have more fun on the trails. Due to an MVA in 2008 I have not been able to run since then. That explains my 180+ pulse rate while we were riding.

Next time I'll take my gopro and take some pics.

Since I'm new, I took a couple pics of my newly acquired bike

The red bike is my fathers Mongoose.

My dads 20 year old mongoose frame cracked on our Gibbs adventure. He's upgrading now to a 2013 Carve or 2014 Crave.

That's really cool that you're getting into mtn biking along with your dad. For some other trails that might appeal to you check out the Kitsap Mountain Biking page. Depending on where you live and the amount of driving you're willing to do the Anderson, Banner and Newberry trails might be worth trying.

We're going to try to hit all the trails we can over time. I'm a former motocrosser so traveling isnt a big deal haha.

It is cool my old man can Mtn bike still. He was born with abnormally large lungs so he has no problem carving the trails.

I'll have to check out Gibbs, as i sometimes fish there! My Dad lives in Sequim, and I visit him more often now that he's almost 91. I plan to check out a spot on the Miller Peninsula that I heard about, too.
