... and if we just ... Visiting Seattle, seeking to join MTB rides 4 to 11 December :)

Hello, this is Yasmine from Egypt and I will be in Seattle from 4 to 11 of December visiting my best-friend and would love to MTB.

I am a beginner/intermediate rider who rides quite regularly in Cairo. Fitness level is good, love rocky terrain, single-tracks, climbs, switchbacks and relatively easy downhills. Still uneasy with ridges though. Would love to join any rider going anytime during that week, but will probably need to rent a bike before meeting up.

Looking forward to MTBing in Seattle :-)

Hi Yasmine, keep an eye on our local club's calendar here: Evergreen MTB Calendar . No rides are posted for your visit yet unless you want to do a night-ride but something might pop up. I'm not sure about places to rent mountain bikes. Hopefully someone else will chime in on that.

I'm sure riding in Washington will be a lot different than Egypt, especially in the winter--have fun!

Hey thanks! I contacted Evergreen on facebook and was told that new rides might be posted. Will keep an eye. Will probably pass the night ride since I am not used to either trails nor terrain.

Yes, mud will definitly be something new to contend with... we only have dry rocky terrains... but on the other hand, there are no off seasons in Egypt ;-P

    Thanks

    posting our local website FYI

To add even more to the mix, we may have snow here that week. Usually, that is a good thing becasue the ground (mud) is frozen and gives more traction. The roots may be slippery and now also hidden though.
Bring cold weather gear IF you have it. Looks clear and cold most of the week right now. Prime fall/winter riding around here.
