Kinda surprised to see this posted, I thought it was a local secret.

I've only ridden it once, it was a few days after some decent rain and the steeper portions of the trail were in bad shape. I don't think this trail will hold up to much use (it will just get braided as people look to avoid the ditch running down the steeper sections). For that reason I wouldn't recommend it.

    Secret trails? Hmm...it's public property.

I would agree that after a bad rain the steeper portions would be unrideable and there are portions of the trail that are not sustainable. Maybe with more attention (like the area got after the fires in 2004) the trails will be better and more people will come and enjoy them like we did.

Speaking of Wenatchee area. I have been looking at the Swakane valley for some time as riding prospects. Are there any trails up that way, what is the Terrain like if anyone knows?

    Swakane Canyon

Swakane is gorgeous. Lots of double track and forest service roads but not a ton of single track. There is one single track that parallels a lot of the upper road when you hit the ridge with Nahahum Canyon but it gets a lot of use by motos and isn't the greatest. If you search for Swakane on the Wenatchee Outdoors Forum you'll get some ride reports.

If you want some long grinds then it's a great area. If you head a bit further up the Entiat there are some phenomenal trails including Mad River and some tie-ins to Maverick Saddle and Klone Peak. But Swakane itself is a somewhat rocky dirt road. I've ridden it on my XC bike and cyclocross. The loop that goes up to Chumstick Mountain is great. Views for miles.
