    T-West RR 05/22/14

Got out to the old stomping grounds after a couple months working/riding elsewhere to check on status yesterday. No one else in the lot at 3. Up Bobsled. The re-route is doing we but it is obvious some equestrians can't read or choose not to.... The rest of the trail is in perfect condition. Love that trail. Over to Poopy D. As usual for this time of year, the lower section has some nettles. But, otherwise in great shape. Up Steakhouse, thanks for the brush back for whom ever did it. Odd to ride Bon House with so much light coming in from the new clear cut. Up Bon Bon, again, thanks for the clearing. It fared really well and is in good shape to the Gnome stump. Moonraker is clear and ridable also but needs some grading. The Mousetrap entrance road was left pretty clear but there is one chain saw blowdown on it now. Light brushing and it will be fine. Connector to the powerlines for Golden Spike is in great shape though GS needs brushing in a bad way. Upper Outback is there and mostly needs just a stick throwing party to clear debris. 2 trees that need a saw. Outback/Extension are just fine. interesting that the new(er) shortcut on Extension is getting all the traffic now. The Middle is obviously seeing a lot of traffic which is good. Slop's upper entrance re-route will be real nice when complete. No one seems to be riding the rock roller in there which is interesting. Over and up Bypass to the new climber which does look like it is getting a lot of riders to Small Fries to Kamikaze. That cat was gone but I found some refreshment there anyways. Upper KK is already loose in places and the switchbacks already have inside line rear wheel skidiot slots.... *sigh* but was as fun as always though the lower part is becoming a tunnel of nettles.
Everything in the woods was just about perfect dirt with open trails already showing some summer loosening. Just saw one rider perusing his map at the upper entrance of the Middle and two at the gate at the bottom so a slow day out there.

Would really like to see someone hit that left hipper after the Mavericks drop in on New Tokyo. Just seems like the landing zone has to be nailed our you are screwed. (More hardware terms...)

Yep. That's it. hoping to be out on Upper outback Sunday clearing and doing some grading. They left it pretty open which was nice of them. The gnome's wares are going to get a little warm out in the open for a while though....

Did this loop last weekend which hits everything but Jerry Springer and KK. I really liked the variety and the giant loop feel of this route. It never feels like your climbing for too long and there are 4 great downhill runs. Hate missing the Middle DH as it's a favorite. Thanks builders.

Navigator, Hopefully there will soon be some new connections to make that even better. KK is starting to get to be Nettle central. Keep it on the trail! Really bummed about the tight inside skid lines on the switchbacks though.

Was out there Sunday and last night. Trails are in decent shape.

Every trail on the SW face has horse tracks. :-( KK, TD, PR, PR-bypass, PB, SF, etc. Beaver Pond is interesting. Track is very narrow with weed/brush at handlebar height. Not nearly as fast as before but worth the ride before it gets brushed back this fall.
Also roads in the Small Fries/KK area have been graded for pre-logging.
