What's more fun than Take Your Child to Work Day? Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day!

For many years Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and Cascade have partnered together to make this amazing day a reality. In 2012, almost 200 kids and 100 adults turned out for a day of exploring the trails at King County's Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park in Issaquah.

This year's event will include trail riding, an obstacle course for the little ones, an exciting jump show from local and pro riders, a barbecue, and tons of prizes! It's a terrific way to get kids outside in the woods having fun on bikes.

All ages are welcome - from tots to teens and parents too - you just need a working bike and helmet to participate.

So bring your kids, your neighbor's kids, or your friends with kids and come ride bikes on the trails with us.

Date: Saturday, Oct. 5
Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Duthie Hill Park, Issaquah
Ages: All ages welcome!
Cost: FREE!!

Please RSVP here if you plan to attend: Evergreen MTB Calendar

This is also happening in Anacortes on Saturday, Oct 5 for those of you up North!

Fidalgo Trail Riders is happy to introduce the IMBA’s Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day into our community. Focused on encouraging communities around the world to celebrate the joy of riding in dirt with our youth, riders of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to bring a kid out to experience the joy of being in the woods and riding trails.

There will be group rides leaving at 9:30am and 11:00am from our booth at the entrance to the water tank off trail 104 at the end of 29th st. east of Little Cranberry Lake. This location offers is a great starting place for first time trail riders as well as advanced enthusiasts. If you can’t make a group ride, stop by the booth and pick up a list of recommended routes for riding with kids.

Rides will have options available that are appropriate for push bikes and all training wheel free off-road bikes. Helmets are mandatory. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

How did the festival at Duthie go? How many kids attended? I took my two oldest to Big Finn Hill and hiked along with their little sister in the bjorn. The big kids are certainly ready for biking at duthie but alas the 10 month old makes that difficult.
