Sage Hills is Open! - Wenatchee

The seasonal mule deer closure of Sage Hills is over and the riding is near perfect right now. One warning: The 5th St./Sage Hills entrance is closed because the trail is being rerouted so your entrance options are Day Drive, Maiden Lane, or Horse Lake Rd.

What's the word on conditions for Sage Hills? The weather forecast for Wenatchee this weekend looks dry and windy on Saturday, probably making the trails dry enough to ride on, I hope? We're looking for a day-trip destination on either Saturday or Sunday. Sunday looks ok on the west side of the state for weather, but we would rather ride on Saturday. If we go Sunday, it may be Orcas Island/Moran State Park.

The trails are in great shape right now with little to no mud spots at all. I rode them a few days ago and they were fine and we haven't had any rain at all since then. Twin Peaks is rideable too as well as Freund Canyon in Leavenworth and Xanadu.

fyi, the 5th St./Sage Hills Dr entrance is closed for a few more weeks. Use Day Drive, Broadview or Horse Lake Rd.

yes, lots of Balsam Root. The grasses are coming back with a vengeance. It's a lush carpet of green up there.
