Ranger and Palisades Are Clear of Snow and Blowdowns

Sunday we divided our pack work load so Peter, the sawyer of record, carried his 200T w/16"picco bar/chain setup and I carried tools, and recovered stashed saw fluids so we each carried about 15-20lbs up Ranger.

Our friend and mentor Art also made a helpful appearance.

At the shelter there was no snow. Two weeks ago it was 4' there. Bill Davis says on mid fork he's seeing 2' melt a week.

Peter's first of many this day just above the shelter.

About 3rd palisade (plenty more but not as bad as recent devils report)

    virtual clinks all around!

Usual disclaimer that trees may fall between now and your visit so a 13-14" pruning handsaw on your bike or in your pack is a good idea if some small tree blows your buzz you would have a chance to pay it forward for the next group.

Anything too big for a handsaw you can report to this thread with approx location and diameter and photos with a bike like JackD sent are very helpful. Maybe let us know if its a niner in the shot.

We will try to get a couple of guys on it within a couple of weeks or when we come back for Noble Nob.

Len, Peter, Art...As always you guys rock!! Huge thanks from everyone at Evergreen!

And big thanks from me personally as you're always bucking out some of my favorite trails (Palisades, Mid Fk Snoq, Skookum, etc.). I too owe y'all a few rounds of beers some day soon. :-)

    more pictures

It was three weekends in a row, and besides Ranger and Palisades, we worked on White River, Skookum Flats, and the Deep Creek bridge.

4500 feet was our working altitude on Palisades
