    Report from Evergreen's latest WP...

    This was posted on the list on May 28th to the same question.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++

    Ken its been a real winter out there. With Brian and a club chainsaw and menches
    with handsaws we spent 7 hours on the white river trail and cleared from fs road 7174 To camp shepherd. So another mile and at least one more big log pile on the north side of Sr 410. Most logs require the motor saw but we did all we could with the handsaws.

    Skookum is really messed up and the conditions report at usfs hassles all trails marked uncleared except skookum that says in my words don't even think about it.

    A trailworking teen with a maddox in his hand said the snow was 1/3 up ranger creek.

    Brian has better info from out there as he's talking to and working with the land manager out there to represent all of us and he's an instant superhero IMHO.

    Nothing negative intended but we are about to all miss brother john Loomis and all his years keeping these lines open "selfishly". We need more selfish people.

    Ride trails with a handsaw. Not a folding one - at least a 13" pruning saw.. Take out one or three trees and you and we all have better conditions.

    Or buy a lift ticket...

    Pray for heat to melt the snow so
    We can ride high.

    L

    You can also check WTA site for trip reports and road conditions. wta.org
    There's a big difference between ripping and skidding. Those who skid don't know how to ride.
