Over the Cascades: Greenwater to Easton?

Any advice on a low-resistance tour? I'm looking for the lowest elevation crossing and single track is not important for this trip. If the snow level allows, we may try this month.

That'd have to be the John Wayne Trail over Snoqualmie Pass. At 3022 ft it's the lowest pass in the Washington Cascades. Coming from Greenwater means crossing Stampede Pass (3672 ft). You may have to wait til next year.

Thanks, but isn't there a route up road 70 and over Pyramid Pass or Greens Pass?

If we are talking about the same Green Pass, that takes you down into the Naches River drainage. Doubt you'll be able to do it this year unless a big warm-up arrives.

If Easton is your target, you need to be looking at the Green River valley and Stampede Pass (up Sunday Creek) and out to Keechelus or Tacoma Pass and out Cabin Creek. Unfortunately, all of that area on the west side of the crest is part of the Green River Watershed area of Tacoma City Water. I don't think that they are as persnickety as Seattle City Water but I don't think that they allow casual access to the watershed. It doesn't hurt to ask though. The last time I was up Stampede Pass from the east, it looked to me that they allowed road access over the pass to the former railroad town of Lester, with a couple of residents still living there I believe.
