New Parking Lot in the Black Diamond hood

Just a heads up. The county officially opened the new parking lot on the east side of hiway 169 last week. The best thing we can do to show we appreciate their efforts is shift our parking routine to using the new lot. The lot has a honey bucket and a map kiosk.

The current plan is the gate will be locked at dark and opened in the morning because they are concerned with people camping. If you do by chance get locked in just continue riding thru the night until the gate is opened.

We generally ride BD on Wednesday nights. Should we park at Summit Ridge instead of the new lot? Sometimes we don't finish until 10pm and I'd hate to have to drive over all the bushes we help plant just to get out of the lot!

Great question Mr. Lynch. I find it kind of silly that they want to control the usage of the lot especially since the area is so visible from the hiway. I am going to revisit this decision with the county.

    Happy Trails,

Love the new lot and the toilet is a welcome addition. I too was wondering about the parking hours. I would never have thought that camping would be an issue. Any word on why the county might be thinking that this might be an issue? Sounds like bureaucratic overthinking to me.

I think with the gate closed it will be easier to camp there. 4th of July camp out party in the new lot!

Hey if any others can meet up on weeknites (5 pm-ish) OR weekends @ the Summit Ridge jumplines area, 5pm-ish, give me a holler. After a long hiatus, I'm trying to get my confidence back on medium gaps like ATM, mainly. Anyway help this old guy out please - not a good place for solo riding. Thanks!
