New question here. Middle Fork Access

Was planning on finally riding the MFST tomorrow, until I read this:

Road will be closed for paving from 7/8 through 8/2

on the Evergreen page for this trail.

Can anyone verify if this is accurate?

Yep, they're supposed to be out there repaving it now.

    Two thoughts:

1.) I was the one to put that warning on the wiki, and score for you to have checked it first.

2.) I'd like to get some 1st-person confirmation on those dates, as well as whether or not the road is open to any degree on the weekends during the closure. I've heard conflicting reports.

Well the closing could be part of a road repair, which is in the residential area before the long dirt slog.

We went to Granite Creek yesterday, which is just past Mailbox TH, shortly after the road turns gravel. We did not see any paving activities or equipment, at least at point of the road, and there were lots of cars coming and going beyond that point.

According to the FS website the road is open. I'd probably call the ranger station out at North Bend and ask.

Here's what I was told by someone in the ranger station a few months ago... there is some scheduled (date tbd) re-grading this summer, but the paving doesn't start until next summer.

    Thanks for all the input.

I opted to avoid the area for today. A late start meant staying closer to home than I was originally planning. Went to Tolt, only to find the park was close for some music festival... Cut a short window of ride time even shorter.

    Re: Middle Fork Access

I rode mfs today. Almost had the place to myself.. conditions were good. A bit thick in some spots, but for they most part, great shape.

The road closure will be in August in the paved part, where the houses are (there is a detour). They are repairing a culvert.
