Indie, I am contemplating heading up this year and riding Wednesday or Thursday. Can you give me insight on the differences in the rides for those days? Thanks, Fellow Evergreen East Member!

The 5266 ft of descending is worth doing this "easy" option

Acree had an idea about doing a sunset ride up to Columbia Mountain and come back down with headlights. Stars from there got to be spectacular! Any interest?

    Trail status

Planning on riding around this weekend (4th of July). Anyone know the current trails status. Have they been cleared of deadfall etc...

I talked to the Forest Service on Friday and they said all the main trails have been cleared (Kettle Crest North and South and the main feeders). I might be up there this weekend to do some recon.

Here's all the details for Kettle Fest:

We ended up doing a loop trip through Nelson and Rossland rather than Kettle Crest for the weekend. But we did take a detour on the way home to do a short ride on the Sherman Loop - Kettle south. The entire loop trail is in excellent condition. Zero snow. The wildflowers are fragrant and much further along than I had expected. There where a few cars in the Sherman Pass parking lot. 3 with bike racks but we didn't get a chance to talk to anyone about the trail conditions they encountered. Wish I could make it next weekend for Kettle Fest. Hope everyone has a blast!

I have no idea why these pictures come in upside down...

    Sweet.
    Best weather ever.
Some real crackerjack riders and good variation on the routes this year.
Trailwork was some of the most satisfying I've seen done.
    Bonfire was great.
thanks Peter and Graham, another epic Kettle Fest.

It was great seeing old and new faces at Kettle Fest again this year! Did anyone else get pictures? A full write-up with pictures to come....

The trails were in great shape. Graham's work crew kicked some serious ass on Jungle Hill. The work parties are a win-win for us. The Forest Service gave us some swag and a nice letter of appreciation for all the work we've done.

I might have to do some recon for next year (13mile Trail and Abercrombie) and possibly do some work on one of the trails to pimp it out for next year. Also, next year should be even better with a float trip on the river after Taylor Ridge.
