    Japanese Gulch Work Party

Please join us to throw some dirt around in the gulch this Sunday, March 4th, from 1-4pm. Meet at the 5th Street parking lot on the west side.

No experience or tools necessary. If you have tools please bring them. Make sure you dress appropriately.

We need people for grading and benching the trails. In addition, for those with carpentry skills, we have 6 bridges and an entrance kiosk to build over the next few months.

    Wait a minute....

JG is going legit? Benching, bridgework, kiosks?

Chris will actually be able to sleep at night?

If so, this is great news for the North enders.

Partially... We'll be working the city owned parcel on the southwest side of 5th street.

The Gulch Group Director was hired full time to write grants for purchasing the remaining 97 acres. Things are looking more positive.

5th Street turns in Mukilteo Blvd as you head east from Mukilteo.

    Here is a map link

Saw this a little too late. I am busy with my church most Sundays but I would have tried to make the tail end of the work party. Haven't done much/any trail building but I take direction well. Is there a mailing list for work parties?

How are the trails looking? Last time I was there (October?) they were pretty soupy.

Thanks for your interest DECIM8, and thank to everyone that made it out.

If you can send a quick email to director@japanesegulch.org we can get you added to the list.

Some parts of the trail are better than others. Most of the sections that have been worked in the last 6-9 months are not too bad. Plenty of work to do.

Scheduled work parties are the 1st Sunday of each month through Sept. Except 4th of July and Labor day Weekends. Which, will be the second weekend of the month.

Thanks for posting about the work parties. Email sent. I'm certainly interested as long as I can bring my 4yo son with me. Sundays are boy's day.

I started riding JapGulch last fall and it's a really fun alternative to StEds for close by riding. The trails on the north side of the tracks are really fun as well and could use some help - will be good if they are added to the official list at some point.

This is great news! I live right down the Speedway and ride the Gulch a ton. I sent an email to get on the work party list and will help whenever I can. Sundays can be pretty hard for me until about mid April, but I'd love to help or donate or do what ever to help this along.

Can't wait to see what comes of all this.
