If you're in the Seattle area, please come to the meeting on Monday, May 8th to send a clear message to Seattle Parks - there should be more bicycle trails and bicycle skills parks in our green spaces!
When: Wednesday, May 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Green Lake Community Center, 7201 E Green Lake Dr. N
Why: The Seattle Parks Policy restricting (or prohibiting) bikes on most unpaved trails is over 15 years old and based on flawed and outdated assessments of bicycle impact. Evergreen is currently helping the Friends of Cheasty Greenspace with their trails and park proposal, and is working to correct the entrenched associations between damage, conflict, and mountain biking.
The good news is that the data overwhelmingly supports changing this policy. Now we just need you to come out and share the value you derive from getting outdoors and riding bikes on our trails, and of course to show your support for additional mountain biking trails in Seattle parks.
Please help us fill the meeting with folks who are pro-mountain biking so we can get more trails in our city parks.
Thanks for supporting the cause!
