    First time riding tiger

Dope. Finally a real MTB ride. Fireroad climbing is meh, specially since I'm old and slow as ****. But the rooty, rocky, some fear of going OTB section (Preston I think? See the attached strava route) was fun as hell. Really reminded me of where I was riding, very different climate/trails than back home in tahoe.

NW timber trail was nice and mellow after that. Wish that section was longer. Wish I didn't have to be back home for kids so I could loop it again, heh heh.

Hardly anyone out there too and it was midday. Is that because of the fear of rain, I thought this place gets packed on the weekends and is to be avoided?

Nice report! Its mother's day, so I think a lot riders had other duties to attend to!
I was out doing trail for from 7am-10:30am and I didn't see a single rider.

Nice! Most people ride clockwise, so even when busy, it still seems like there aren't many others out there. Sometime for fun, instead of going up the road, go up NW Timber and Preston, then back the way you came. I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I get to the top of Preston going that way.

Wha? I got coffee and flowers for the wifey and her mom. Then off to ride.

Doh. Missed the best part! When you're climbing the fireroad and are almost at the top, the road comes to a T toward the end and you went left to go to the start of Preston. If you go right and follow the signs to the summit there's a brand new trail that connects to the top of Preston. Still, any ride out there without the crowds is always fun.

Beautiful day out there today. Too bad you missed the top, it was fast with a thin layer of grease. I got dope slapped a couple of times trying to double some of those rollers! Happy Mothers Day :-)

i went my first time two weekends ago and like you said the climb sucks (i walked most of the way). next time take a right at the tee there should be a sign to tell you the summit it that way.

ps get there early in the morning as there is less people easier to find parking.
