Rented some fat bikes from Methow Valley Cycle & Sport and had a blast on the Big Valley trails and a few others on Sunday. Much easier pedaling than it looks.
The day before, we did a little hike also on Big Valley with the pooch and got a little surprise. At first I thought I saw one of these (because they were so many dogs running around):
Became quickly clear that was no Schnauzer. So we were sure it was a very gray version of one of these:
Walked very slowly across the trail and off into the woods, barely giving us a glance. Some bobcats are gray, but after some interweb research, I'm now leaning toward one of these:
Very thick fur, very pointy ears, very short tail, all gray, no noticeable spots. Me thinks we spotted the rare Canadian Lynx. Snow was too fresh, light and fluffy to make anything out of the prints.
