End of 2012 WA Video Thread!

How 'bout an End of 2012 Video Thread? This last year was a great year for riding. Over the last few years, we've had a number of new trails thanks to the hard work of many people. Duthie is in the completed phase, there are new trails at Tiger (jaw dropping that this happened!), we have a new bike park at Stevens, and there's even more good dirt on the way. This summer saw great riding all over the state. There is much to celebrate and document.

C'mon, I saw tons of people rocking helmet and action cams this past year, so I know there's some amazing footage out there waiting to be seen. We don't have to be super heroes, just normal peeps shooting and showcasing the trails we ride and love.

I'll get it started. Not the most exciting edit, but a raw footage run down Slingshot Wookie at Stevens Pass Bike Park.

    Let's see those videos!

Some rough footage from a trail I built. I'm still going to add in some more features so this section is about 90% done.
Then the trail is going to continue along a new Freeride trail to the bottom.

Enter the Evergreen Dirt Junkie MTB Video & Photo Contest

    Nice videos!

And great timing on the thread because... This month you can enter your WA MTB video in a contest to win sweet prizes like a Contour Roam helmet cam or a 2013 Platypus Duthie 17 pack!

    Here are the deets...

Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance 1st Ever Dirt Junkie MTB Video & Photo Contest

Wanna win an awesome prize like a Contour Roam helmet cam or a 2013 Platypus Duthie 17 hydration pack?

Love shooting photos or video when you ride?

If so, then you need to enter the Dirt Junkie Mountain Bike Video & Photo Contest!

Submissions will be judged by a live audience at Evergreen's upcoming Winter Stoke Party on January 26th. Killer prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

The party is a fundraiser for Evergreen's Education and Student League programs so we can get more kids and ladies out riding, and make our collective voice stronger. Thus, by entering the contest, you’re helping Evergreen protect, maintain and build trails statewide (pretty sweet, eh?!)!

We're still working out all the details and setting up the Webpage at this time, so stay tuned. But, I can tell you...

    How to Enter the Contest

Funny. Thoughtful. Arty. Adrenaline soaked. Or just plain cool. When it comes to subject matter and style, pretty much anything goes as long as it’s mountain biking related, shot in Washington and legal. Only one video and one photo per person will be entered in the final judging so choose your submission(s) wisely.

    Video Contest rules
    • Filmed on any legal Washington State Trails
    • 5 minutes maximum length
    • Must be submitted by January 16th, 2013

    Photo Contest rules
    • Shot on any legal Washington State Trail
    • Min 4Χ6, max 11Χ17
    • Digital jpg copies submitted for preview by January 16th, 2013
    • Final framed photo submissions due by January 23rd, 2013
    • Photographer must agree to have their framed photo sold in the silent auction

Email questions, and video and photo submissions to stacy AT evergreenmtb.org

    The evening will also include:
    • A raffle with big prizes including a Diamondback Sortie full-suspension bike!
    • A silent auction packed with stellar goodies like a sexy New Belgium cruiser bike and a
weekend at a MT Baker condo
    • Tasty beverages and a general sense of merriment

I hope y'all will all enter, and join us at the party for the judging.

    Happy New Year!

Here is a quick edit. I tried to get 10-20 seconds of all the locations we rode in 2012...

Amazing! This could be an advert for WA MTB. But why no Tokul?

Sweet video! Love the tour - makes me remember all my great rides from the year while envying yours at the same time. :-)

Please tell me you're going to enter it in the upcoming contest...Deadline for video submissions is this Friday, and I've only got one entry so far - which makes winning one of the prizes way too easy (loads of photos have been entered though!).

Get all the details for entering the contest here: Winter Stoke Party 2013

Hope to see you at the party!

Yes, please. It does need to be no longer than 5 minutes to be entered. Thanks so much!

You can use drop box or have them download the source directly from Vimeo but I'm unsure if the file from vimeo available for download is the orignal source file. Even if it is the original source file, I would feel uncomfortable using the downloaded file from Vimeo as a source file.

I use Wetransfer.com for my business, free up to 2GB and you get an email notice when they download the file successfully.

It's not from the end of 2012 but from last Tuesday night riding session on ATM at Summit Ridge Freeride Park. Just thought I'd share a quick video edit from that night. I shot for a couple of hrs and basically through it all on a timeline and it turned out kinda fun.
