    Eastern WA Wildflowers

I hear that its going to be a banner year for wildflowers in the eastern WA high desert ... especially for the pink phlox flowers. There is nothing more wild to my mind that screaming down one of the fun flowly trails at State Patrol near Kennewick with the phlox out in all their glory. It's a pink blur of color and between the visuals and the swoopy trails through the sagebrush, it's impossible not to end up at the bottom w/out a huge grin plastered on your face.

Get out and enjoy the spring wildflowers! One of my favorite trails for the swoop and the color is the one called Slalom.

Wish I was out there right now!

We've had a thread (with pics) going for a little while now on the Wenatchee Outdoors Forum about wildflowers. With the recent rains we've had things are only going to get better!

True story, JRA. I was riding here in Yakima yesterday and came around a turn into a field of the phlox. It was so brilliant I had to pause to take in the view. The wildflowers are raging, its supposed to be staying cool over here with intermittent rains. That's good for the flowers and trails!

this is the one time of year (usually lasts about a week) where it is really cool to ride in/around the tri cities. last year was a pretty weak year for the wild flowers. with the warm weather and rain, should be really good.

It looks good for the weekend, right? Thinking about heading there or to Wenatchee if the hills are open with the wife.

Eastern WA Trails - Ancient Lake/Wenatchee

Trails should continue to be good at AL and in Wenatchee. There's an updated thread on Wenatchee Outdoors Forum for Sage...

Sage is open, some of the upper reaches of Twin Peaks still have snow.
