    DT Seattle Urban Downhill Race?

There was talk about Red Bull putting this on a few years back? Anyone have any updates as to why it never happened? Seems like a pretty insane course could be set up from the top of Capitol Hill down to piers. I could see some local shops and bike companies getting behind something like this with the help from Red Bull and making some huge event!

Good thing there's plenty of hospitals on the way.

It could be done alley cat style.
There's a big difference between ripping and skidding. Those who skid don't know how to ride.

Top of First Hill or Cap Hill down to the Pier would be perfect!

Part of it could be a ride down the stairs through Colonnade, that would be awesome, but so hard to link up.

Here is a list of steepest streets: SDOT - Steep Streets in Seattle

I dunno if we have the total vert needed. Maybe an Urban Enduro race?

That's a good point. All the gnarly urban dh races I've seen are from like the tops of villages in the mountains to the bottom. Could pose an issue

If I know my Seattle right, there would be a few people who would be happy to write letters to complain about such a disruptive, violent, insensitive event being run on their own streets that they paid taxes for(supposedly).

I think an urban downhill would be sooo awesome! When I watch the events in South America and Europe, I imagine having one here. What about a shorter one down Queen Anne and through the stairs?

On Queen Ann you could go from the radio towers east down to Westlake via the Garfield St over pass.
Check it out on Google Earth.
