    Devils Gulch RR

Rode Devils Gulch Wed and it is primO! The recent rains and the cloud cover made for great dirt and a great ride. If you're considering it I'd go now while the forecast calls for overcast skies. It hasn't seen much use by Mtn bikes or motos. Took the dirt road up and there are several washouts at the bottom and some fairly sandy spots that made walking the bike a better choice at times. Super fun!

How was the log jam on the lower creek crossing?

Fine, if it's the one I'm thinking of it's freakin' huge, amazing what water can do. There are cut logs across the creek that make it easy to carry your bike over. Every crossing was pretty easy to get over and not get wet feet.

I thought last year's fire's took this trail out. Did you see evidence or did the trail get missed?

The trail got hit in places but workers cleared upwards of a hundred trees.

Oh yea, there's lots of evidence of burnt trees and tons of new forest growth. Still a lot of flowers blooming. It's amazing how selective mother nature is about cleaning out the sick and dead trees. If there was trail damage I didn't see it or the local trail gnomes took care of it. Hero dirt all the way (aside from the sun drenched skree sections).
