Derailleur Graveyard for the Octagon of Death

If you've lost a derailleur or hanger riding the Octagon (or riding one of the long log skinnies leading up to it), toss it onto the little log stack in the middle of the Octagon. I'm going to create some kind of graveyard for 'em. I've witnessed 3-4 losses already. Maybe some day it'll start to look like the toy stump at Sawyer

Note: You could ride clockwise to avoid risking a mangled derailleur, but then you may end up with a bent rotor.

Borneo -- nuthin' but great feedback on the whole line... despite the $losses$. Thanks again.

Borneo works for Shimano (or is it Sram these day?)

    Bwahahahahahahaha.................ha.

If you just stay on the darn thing, you'lll have no problem.. Geeez...

    It's totally ridable.

Better to lose it there that on the top of Seventh Secret or Krazy Karpenter or some other place out in the middle of nowhere. Eh?

Build the skilz that pays my billz... (IF I worked for Shimano or SRAM...)

I broke one on my Rocky Mt. Switch 3 weeks ago. Ordered one (2 actually) the same day from a local bike shop. They're telling me that the parts are still 3 weeks away. Anybody know where i can get one? The bike is an 05. Is there a Rocky dealer around here anywhere? Greater Seattle area?
    Thanks,
    Chris

I think he was talking about the hangar. Getting a hold of one of those can be a total pain especially for a smaller brand like Rocky Mountain.

    Believe it or not...

    dubdubdubdotderailleurhangerdotcom

But, a quick Google search also showed a few more on-line places to snag one.

Next day air it. 3 weeks is BS. Tell your LBS to stick it.

I carry 2 for the Covert all the time. (They don't weight that much..) Cheap insurance to stay riding with gears when out there in the woods.

As Borneo said, go to http://derailleurhanger.com/rockymountain.htm

Also, Gregg's is a Rocky dealer.

Thanks guys. They don't list one for an 05 switch. I'll see if it matches one of the pictures though. Appreciate the help
