    Cooks Meadow

Was near Mt. Hood 8/12 and went exploring. Found Cooks Meadow trail. Uphill through awesome forest with fairly steady gradient. Fast with fun turns and a little bumpy on the ride back. Very fun. When I daydream mountain biking, this is what it looks like.

It's a lot better than it used to be, there was a substantial reroute done several years ago that was a huge improvement. It's not to popular with the mtb crowd and I think it gets a bit more horse traffic than other trails in the area. I wish it didn't just dead end into a road in the middle of nowhere. You can continue to climb up to High Prairie on the road and work it into a few really nice trails.
I only ride bikes to fill the time when I'm not skiing.
