Which bike should I bring to Washington?

    Hey,

I got a job at Mt. Rainier this summer and I can't decide which bike to use

Should I bring my SS mountain bike or my geared road bike? What's better to ride around there? I know there aren't any off-road trails within the park, but any good trails nearby?

Oh ya, lots of great riding around there, exactly where you would go depends on which side of the park you're on. Probably plenty of SS opportunities but I'd get a FS and get all the goods. You're gonna love it, unless you end up working too much.

    My two pesos.

Throw a derailleur on the SS and ride the stuff that hwy 410 has to offer (on both sides of the pass). Could you ride a SS up the roads/trails around there? Definitely, but you'll have a lot more fun on the ups and downs with some gears.

Yes, there is great road riding too, so I'd say bring both!

It's hilly everywhere here. I'd bring something with a derailleur or two...

Thanks everyone! By asking you fellow MTBRs I subconsciously knew I wanted to bring the MTB. I'll bring a derailleur along for a little security, but I'll try to tough it out SS. See ya out there!
